PERFUMED PAST
Today, it seems that most perfume ads are selling us a barely legal, just-out-of-the-shower version of ourselves (or some celebrity) but that wasn’t always the case. Especially in the 1940s, 50s, and 60s, perfumers employed the talents of illustrators, graphic designers, and a few photographers to create wonderful worlds around their products which had more to do with magic than sex appeal. If you like what you see of the random sample below, search for originals on EBay because they make beautiful, economical wall art.
