I spent a recent Sunday afternoon watching Jean-Luc Godard’s 1961 French New Wave comedy, Une Femme Est Une Femme. It’s a fun Parisian romp (available to stream on Netflix), but it’s the star’s costume that got me excited enough to do a post.
Anna Karina’s one-size-too-large cardigan, pencil skirt, and kitten heels seem like the perfect answer to the transitional weather we can expect through spring. Add a dash of punchy primary color á la the film processing of the 60’s and you’ve got yourself a timeless look. Perhaps try wearing your cardigans backwards like Diana Vreeland suggested to avoid looking too…well…buttoned up.
