If you want to get as close to fashion as possible, Loïc Prigent’s lovely documentary series, The Day Before, provides the best behind-the-scenes access to major fashion brands as you can hope for in two dimensions. Each episode features the tribulations and triumphs of a superstar designer and their team of magic-makers as they prepare to show their newest collection to the world. Clever, quirky, and occasionally poignant, the series which originally ran in the US on The Sundance Channel, is finally on DVD. I went through a mourning period when my DVR erased the episodes I’d taped during the series’ original showing and I have a feeling, fashion lover that you are, you’ll grow quite attached too.
