BEHIND THE SEAMS
We are exactly one week away from the presentation of the spring 2012 haute couture collections and you can be sure that many a skilled behind-the-scenester is hard at work making designers’ dreams a reality. We’ll get a little more into haute couture itself tomorrow but, for now, I wanted to mention another great Loïc Prigent documentary, Signé Chanel.
In this five episode series, Loïc takes you up to the atelier at the venerable house of Chanel as they prepare their fall 2004/5 haute couture show. Sure, the collection and the documentary (released in 2006) are a few years old but, like haute couture itself, the methods and madness are timeless. Folks in Europe can purchase the DVD here while those of you in the US can rent the series through Amazon’s movie rental service.
