UPON ARMS
Today we have a couple more finds from the online antique emporium, Ruby Lane, courtesy of my very own vintage jewelry guru, Allison Ricks. Statement jewelry came roaring back into fashion some seasons ago and it’s decided to stick around – perhaps thanks to the fact that there’s no better way to catch a street style photographer’s attention than with bold accessories. Unfortunately, standout pieces that are ornate and well-made can cost a fortune in department stores and there’s always a chance that someone in your social circle has the same, good taste. So, ladies (and adventurous gentlemen), it’s always advisable to look backwards in time for a bit of costume drama. Who knows, you may even find something that looks like it came from the runway like the faux pearl bracelet above which bares an uncanny resemblance to Spring 2012 Yves Saint Laurent accessories (see what I mean below).
