VERY VALENTINO
Do you like fashion? Are you easily driven to distraction? If you answered ‘yes’ to these questions and have any reasons to be productive today – say, you have a job or class or need to feed yourself – perhaps avoid the new Valentino Garavani Virtual Museum.
With a career that spanned almost five decades, there’s a lot of Valentino to see and the newly launched application provides a comprehensive look at his beautiful clothes and the people and places that made them legendary. I won’t spoil it for you with highlights and commentary because the point is to explore and be absorbed by what you discover in each room. (Yes, you heard that right, room. The format is literally a virtual museum with fully realized architecture and lighting.) I will say, however, that it’s an incredibly clever idea that I hope will catch on at other houses with histories.
