YESTERDAY’S NEWS
There’s been a lot of chatter in the fashion media world this past week about the newly launched Vogue Archive – an online catalog of every page of every issue of Vogue ever printed. Exciting stuff. True, a yearly subscription costs as much a designer handbag but, man, do you get a lot to look at. Below are only some of the December covers of Vogue published between 1911 and 1964 and look how long it takes just to scroll through them all.
If the hefty $1575 price tag is out of the question, be sure to pick up Vogue: The Covers by Dodie Kazanjian which will provide a beautiful albeit slightly less in-depth look at Vogue’s history. And, though it seems somewhat sacrilegious to tear up a book, it’s not a bad idea to pull out a few of your favorite covers to decorate your walls. At $31.50 on Amazon, you won’t get as many beautiful prints for less anywhere else.
